36x Postcard of Yaadaas Crest Corner Pole
36x Sitka National Historical Park
#24968 Yaadaas Crest Corner Pole
This reproduces pole, nestled among Sitka Spruce trees, once stood at one of the exterior corners of the Yaadaas clan house. It is believed to be a crest pole portraying the heraldic emblems of the Yaadaas clan of Old Kasaan. On top is the Village Watchman; next is Raven in Human Form, followed by another raven, while the base figure appears to be a beer holding some type of animal in its mouth. There are two of these poles in the park, one re-carved by Tommy Jimmy (1978) and the other by Nathan Jackson (1982).
